The Business Council of New York State

The Business Council, Marist College, and the Hudson Renewable Energy Institute recruited Ron to speak to legislative, regulatory, utility, industry, and academic leaders about solar energy at the 2014 Renewable Energy Conference: A Leadership Forum on Energy Policy: Changing Federal and State Energy Markets and Impacts on Renewable Supply. http://www.bcnys.org/whatsnew/events/renewable-energy-conference.html.


With events spanning four continents, Intersolar is the world’s leading exhibition series for the solar industry and its partners, uniting people and companies from around the world with the aim of increasing the share of solar power in our energy supply. Intersolar recruited Ron to first provide a keynote speech at their massive annual conference in Germany, then asked him to become a member of its North America planning committee, resulting in his making multiple presentations at the annual Intersolar events in San Francisco.


EUCI’s mission is “to provide an objective, independent perspective on new and emerging practices from across the energy industry by offering quality professional development opportunities that encourage dialog and help spread best practices.” For more than 25 years, EUCI has led the way in producing the highest-quality conferences, seminars, workshops, and courses designed exclusively for the energy industry. EUCI offers solutions and seeks to help industry professionals make informed, intelligent decisions to strategically improve their position in today’s challenging business environment. Ron has made presentations at multiple EUCI events, including “Renewable Energy Credits: Maximizing Your Return on Investment and Meeting RPS Mandates.”


GovEnergy is an annual conference of over 140 technical sessions and a technology exposition that attracts Federal officials government wide, including energy policy makers; energy and facility coordinators; procurement, contracting, and budget officials; and utility acquisition teams. The event also draws the participation of federal facility project teams from the private sector, including utilities, energy service companies, equipment manufacturers, the building construction and design professions, energy management and software companies, and industry associations, among others. Ron has presented at a number of GovEnergy conference, including his last to a packed audience on “Solar Thermal Technology Overview.”

The Association of Towns of the State of New York

The Association of Towns of the State of New York was established in 1933 to help towns obtain greater economy and efficiency. The Association serves town governments by providing training programs, research and information services, technical assistance, legal services, insurance programs and a variety of publications to member towns. It represents town governments by providing advocacy in Albany, monitoring legislation and regulatory action, lobbying and presenting initiatives solely on behalf of towns. Ron has presented to AOT numerous times on wind energy, solar PV, solar heat, solar hot water, and New York State Energy Policy.

The New York Conference of Mayor & Municipal Officials

The New York Conference of Mayor & Municipal Officials (NYCOM)’s mission is to serve as a powerful advocate for city and village governments and their taxpayers before the state’s legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government; a readily accessible source of practical information touching upon every area of municipal activity; and be the preeminent provider of training for local government officials. Ron has made numerous presentations on wind energy, solar PV, solar heat, solar hot water, and New York State energy policy.

New York State Association of Counties

New York State Association of Counties’ mission is to represent, educate, and advocate for New York’s counties and the thousands of elected and appointed county officials who serve the public, and represent New York counties and their taxpayers before federal, state, and local officials on matters germane to county governments; and inform membership and the public at large on issues of importance to county governments. Ron has made numerous presentations on wind energy, solar PV, solar heat, solar hot water, and New York State energy policy.

New York State Department of Public Service

The primary mission of the New York State Department of Public Service (PSC) is to ensure safe, secure, and reliable access to electric, gas, steam, telecommunications, and water services for New York State’s residential and business consumers, at just and reasonable rates. The Department seeks to stimulate innovation, strategic infrastructure investment, consumer awareness, competitive markets where feasible, and the use of resources in an efficient and environmentally sound manner. Ron has made formal and informal presentations and presented expert testimony to the PSC on wind, solar, combined heat and power, the Renewable Portfolio and the Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standards, System Benefit Charges, and New York State energy policy.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)’s mission is to use innovation and technology to solve some of New York’s most difficult energy and environmental problems in ways that improve the State’s economy. Ron has presented at many NYSERDA conferences and events; made presentations to staff, executive and board members; and worked closely with NYSERDA representatives to advance efficiency, wind, solar, CHP, and other technologies and policies.
