The NY Public Service Commission released their plan to “Reform the Energy Vision” (REV) this week. REV is “…an ambitious plan that could dramatically alter the state’s energy markets, with the aim of making them more competitive, cleaner and ultimately cheaper for customers.”
REV is tremendously exciting. The process can put an end to the bloody war between utilities and the solar industry that is occurring throughout the country, as NY utilities now profit from encouraging solar and other forms of distributed generation.
EarthKind has been following REV closely, has submitted comments in the proceeding, and is urging all customers to install solar quickly to gain the currently high level of state incentives and keep the majority of energy savings. Those who wait will find that utilities will soon share in the immediate – and long-term – financial savings of solar.
